Books4free.com; Hippopotamus Sea, My Viral Sobriety

Books4free.com is owned by J. Brandon Wright, of Atlanta Georgia. He initially bought the site and the trademark due to his inability to get his first book published back in 1998, and therefore intended to publish his work for free until such time that it was established his work was decent enough to sell, and therefore publish by mainstream publishers. Since then, he led an interesting life, that ultimately led him into Alcoholics Anonymous, and at 3.5 years sober, in June of 2010, he will launch books4free.com with his first writer in the books4free.com stable, Jared Bryan Smith, who goes by JB Smith. All the recovery based writers published on this site will be aliases as will the names of any others mentioned as the 11th tradition states clearly:

Eleven—Our public relations policy is based on attraction rather than promotion; we need always maintain personal anonymity at the level of press, radio and films.

Eventually books4free.com would like to publish unknown authors in all genres, and the alias’ will not apply, but for the time being as we build up our library, and reputation, in recovery, we will hold fast to this tradition. Also, legally, it will allow us to tell the truth without ever being prosecuted for the adventures we speak of, some of which, surely are not outside the statute of limitations in different states, and/or federally, and on the rare occasion internationally (see Tijuana adventures in Hippopotamus Sea).

As the stories in the back of the Big Book helped J. Brandon Wright to get sober in the beginning, so will these longer stories of recovery aim to do, for newcomers coming into the room of Alcoholic Anonymous.

All books, in their entirety, will be available for free, but also available for purchase through major retailers, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Borders, and the like as well as distributed through Smashwords.com, a site that focuses on ebook formats, epub, and the like for the Ipad, Iphone, Nook, Kindle and others. We aim to offer the top of the line access to all book distribution systems, and then allow our readers to decide what is quality and what is not. Once books have established reputations for marketability, books4free.com will act as the literary agents to those authors when approaching mainstream publishers.

Please check out our format, read and purchase our first book Hippopotamus Sea, My Viral Sobriety, JB Smith’s struggle through sobriety, alcoholism, opiate addiction, Hepatitis C, Interferon, Ribavirin, and of course the lessons learned in AA, and come back often to see what new titles we have to offer.
